Dr. Adrian Chanel is the founder and CEO of True Story Educational Consulting and True Story Travel. She is an international educator, activist and motivational speaker. She holds a PhD in Learning, Teaching and Curriculum with an emphasis in Literacy and a minor in Black Studies. Her research is around the impact of spirituality, literacy and community based pedagogy in the lives of underrepresented students. Her dissertation highlighted the work of "Granny Pam" and her beloved husband Dr. Ellis "Poppi" Ingram of Granny's House Ministries.

Dr. Chanel has over 20 years of domestic and International teaching experience, expanding from preschool to adult education. She was the first teacher of color to teach at the elementary school she attended as a child and the first American to teach abroad through Mizzou Academy's international program. Dr. Chanel is a recipient of Missouri Humanities' Excellence in Education Award and has worked as community liaison and professor for the University of Missouri. She is passionate about connecting with people through personal narratives, music and culture. So much so, that in 2019, Dr. Chanel moved her family to São Paulo, Brazil as the first American educator to teach at Colégio Magno. Dr. Chanel enhanced Colégio Magno's high school English program and successfully launched their first elementary English math and science programs for native Portuguese speaking students.

Now, back in the states, Dr. Adrian Chanel is eager to connect with Schools, Students, and Travelers, to help them discover, develop and dive into their true stories through educational consulting and heritage tourism.
